Last Class Show and Tell for 2013

This week saw the last class for my students for 2013. It sounds impossible!

Jane has had lots of fun with her quarter square triangles (QST)

20131214-110137.jpgand Cathie has been playing with QST too

20131214-110236.jpgCathie was also sporting this lovely scarf (yes, it’s the middle of December and we still need a scarf!)

20131214-111606.jpgLois and I had fun choosing fabrics for a flower

20131214-111638.jpgAlly started appliquéing her melons

20131214-111749.jpgAlly also brought in her – first! – finished quilt

20131214-111843.jpghere’s a close up of how we finessed the corners….

20131214-111924.jpg…and “managed” the subsequent shortfall at the sides….

20131214-112051.jpgIt all worked out so well. Ally has done a fabulous job and I think there will be one very happy daughter on Christmas morning!!

Lorraine and Peggy continued working on their current projects and we had a couple of absentees due to other commitments.

We downed tools late morning and shared a delicious morning tea (Jane’s caramel slice is super scrumptious!!)….

20131214-112358.jpg…then it was time to say our farewells and exchange Christmas greetings…..still unbelievable that Christmas is so close!

There will be more Class Show and Tell in February, and I suspect a few new projects will be started in 2014!! I’m looking forward to it!

What a fantastic first quilt, very impressive Ally!! You are a great teacher Meredithe, (as I know from your blog tutorials).

  3. You DO have the fun with your quilting friends! One of my guilds ruled out snacks (my favorite part!) years ago. They do provide a lot of quilting inspiration. My other guild is big on food–but little quilting content. You seem to have found the happy medium!

Have enjoyed reading your class posts. Hope to come back in Feb if you’ll have me. Yeah! Love, Marilyn

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
