A Day In Town

I have so much to share with you! I’m running a bit behind; no doubt like you, life is a bit busy at the moment, and we have some added complications which I won’t bore you with. Bear with me – I know I have a couple of tutorials to share which I hope to get to soon, and lots of Quilty Friends Doings……starting with an adventure into Melbourne city last week with GJ and Linda.

We wanted to venture in to l’uccello, that fabulous store which gives me a thrill every time I walk though the door! And this visit didn’t disappoint. Calm, serene, seductive…..and at the moment, filled with Christmassy treats!

20131208-131732.jpgA stroll through some Melbourne arcades led us to Solarino where we devoured delicious “Italian food with a modern, Sicilian Nonna’s twist” which we were too busy consuming and sighing over to remember to take photos!!

Our last stop was Morris and Sons where the wool displays are a riot of colour, almost, almost, too much to take in!

20131208-132551.jpgSatisfied with our day and our purchases, we headed home, stopping for a reviving cup of tea at a nearby cafe after alighting from the train.

But aren’t we silly? We forgot to see the Myer Christmas windows, and decorations at the Melbourne Town Hall, even if we didn’t wait until dark for the light display. Never mind….there’s always next year!

Myer Christmas windows in my opinion quite disappointing, what has gingerbread got to do with an Australian Christmas.
