Class Show and Tell

It was a very quiet class today.

Josephine is getting closer to the final border of her Mrs Billings, and today we had time in class to have a look at the pyramid hexagons.

Are you sitting down? ‘Cos I had time to help Josephine with her hexagons, I ended up….yep, me….ended up making a paper pieced hexagon pyramid!!! Yes, you read correctly!! What’s more, I actually enjoyed it – shock! horror! gasp! Not sure if it was using Aurifil thread, or taking fewer whip stitches, but I did really enjoy it!! Wanna see?

20131017-140022.jpgDon’t know if I’m a total convert, but I’m not adverse to “giving it another try”. One should never say never, so they say!!

While I was working on that one, Josephine was making one too, (not quite finished)…

20131017-140137.jpgAnd speaking of Mrs Billings, Miss Helen showed me the latest copy of Down Under magazine (issue 160) last week, which has a delightful piece on the Mrs Billings quilt, and Karen’s role in the resurgence of interest in this beautiful masterpiece….

20131017-140534.jpgThen over the page is…..

20131017-140702.jpgShirley’s prize winning version, and mine too!! I now have my own copy! Tickled pink, I are!!

Happy stitching
