Warm Weekend Adventures – part 3

Sunday dawned warm and sunny again, Brisbane living up to Queensland’s motto of “beautiful one day, perfect the next”!!

Just before the bridge to Southbank we found another cafe for breakfast (the previous day’s cafe being closed on Sundays)….

20130820-214411.jpgThis day’s adventure took us on the CityCat ferry service – great fun!! – then a stroll to the most delightful store, Peppermint Stitches

20130820-214805.jpgShop owner, Stacey, and her helper Mum, Julie, were so friendly and helpful, and laughed along with us as we explored Stacey’s fabulous range of fabrics, notions, patterns and other goodies….here’s just a bit of the store….

20130820-215100.jpgThere is such a great variety of fabrics to choose from, and full ranges of fabrics too, including plains, spots, stripes and all the latest moderns.

Quite some time later(!!) we walked back to the ferry, stopping at a conveniently located, trendily renovated hotel for much needed cool refreshments….

20130820-215509.jpgAfter a spot of lunch we went separate ways, Glenda and I returning – on the ferry again! – to the Pop Up Shop……we just needed, yes, Needed!, to have a bag each…..

20130820-215804.jpg….you see, it’s a very special bag!….

20130820-215849.jpgBack at the hotel, some of us needed to do bag rearranging to accommodate the day’s splurges….

20130820-220118.jpgThen it was off to the airport and home to a very chilly Melbourne……

Such a fabulous weekend……great company……wonderful adventures…..and I’ll leave you with some pics of Queensland foliage…..

20130820-220348.jpg…and some views of Brisbane…..

20130820-220438.jpgThanks Brisbane!!

Happy stitching

I feel warmer just looking at the lovely weather – pity about Melbourne’s at the moment!! So how many did the “Bag Lady” bring back???? gorgeous fabrics!!!!!

Holy Cow that breakfast looks fantastic!!! Looks like you had a wonderful time — so fun to have a great weekend break with good friends. And thanks for letting me know how I did on the quiz — yay — 66% LOL!!!

Sigh! Such a lovely trip…for sure. The Brisbane photo (bridge w/ tour boat) could be a photo of LaCrosse (WI)….except, that bridge is painted sky blue……but there is a paddle wheel tour/excursion boat there, too. The fabrics and that shop look awesome. And eggs Benedict….really??? I am so hungry!!! Great post! Hugs…….

lovely photos, what a great trip. Shouldn,t look at those fabulous breakfasts, before I had boring cereal in a bowl with skinny milk !

  6. It does look like a great trip. I love Brisbane at this time of year (two of my children were born there so I have great memories of it!)

These three posts have made me so jealous of your little trip! Fabulous food, shoes, and of course, fabric! Looks like the weather cooperated too. I know we are smack in the middle of the most lovely weather we ever get in Massachusetts but you made me hanker to get away. 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
