Millrose Stitching

I’ve had the best day! It’s been another wooly bits day at Millrose, enjoying fabulous company and the teaching help of Lizzie.

First we saw some show and tell….from Jan

20130630-184551.jpg…from Gail

20130630-184719.jpg…from Joy, who was the only one to include the “aliens” in one of last month’s blocks!

20130630-184823.jpg…and from Amanda who, as she put it, “finally” has all the blocks stapled down!

20130630-184951.jpgWe collected the next two blocks – 8 down, four to go!! – and armed with a delicious hot chocolate, it was time to get to work

20130630-185109.jpgSome people (not me!) were carried away with stapling

20130630-185157.jpgsome people (not me!) were carried away with beautiful new wooly bits

20130630-185300.jpgTime for scrumptious lunch

20130630-185545.jpgthen back for more stitching.

After class, instead of heading home, I headed across country to the Kettles. The car took me through gently rolling hilly countryside, beautifully dressed in Winter green. As the sun lowered in the sky, the hills caused long shadows on the green dales; cows grazed on the grass and sun shone on…..oh, that’s not more cows, that’s a line of kangaroos(!), some alert with ears pricked, others foraging on green shoots. I’d never seen a mob of kangaroos in a long row. Sorry I couldn’t get a photo, but with every turn in the road another view looked photogenic, but not too many places to pull over safely.

I’m here with the Kettles for a few days, leaving TheGolfer batching at home (don’t worry, he’s more than capable!!).

I’ll show you my wooly bits soon….must away to do more! Such fun!!

Happy stitching
