Did you read that heading in a sing-song voice, full of glee, gladness and jocundity?? If not, please go back and do so….oh, and add a bit of smugness too!! ‘Cos that’s how I’m feeling!!
Back in 2010, I attended a class with The Sue Spargo (very exciting!) at Amitie where Sue took us through the makings of her Greta Needle Roll. It was my first introduction to “wooly bits” and Sue’s style of embroidery and stitching. Loved the class, but as so often happens – well, to me anyway! – I became caught up with other things and my Greta languished. (I know some from the class have theirs well and truly completed.)
Roll forward to the beginning of this year and, as you may know, I’m enjoying once a month visits to Millrose, where we’re making the Flowerbed quilt. Thinking that the Greta Needle Roll would be great to finish and take along, I set out to search and find…….except it became a search and search. It had to be somewhere in
my mess my sewing room. As Papa would say, “it’s not lost, it’s on the farm somewhere”!! And my sewing room is considerably smaller to search than the farm’s 640 acres!!
At one stage I found the bag with recognised fabric bits….could this be it?? I quickly dug deeper……But no, only the fabric bits, not the-beginnings-of with stitching bits…..
Then, last week as I searched for something ComPletely different,
And then proceeded to finish it. So here she is – my Greta Needle Roll…
