I do love Autumn; the weather for our weekend was spectacular!
While the air was cool, the sun shone in a blue and cloudless sky each day, cheering an already very happy bunch of stitchers!
Marian had picked up a box from her post office with one of those far away post marks…
….generously waiting to open it with us! Very exciting!! And inside?….
….was this antique quilt….
…in fabulous red, white and steely blue. We left it on the design wall on Friday night for viewing and discovered a couple of little endearing “quirks”….
Saturday saw the viewing of a very different, but equally as appealing quilt in the making…
There are actually four of us making quilts using my templates, so we put all four up in their various stages….
So different, but all so gorgeous!
There were lots of other projects and paraphernalia (um…not sure if the chocolates are projects or paraphernalia – certainly needed!!)…
…and, of course, food – the big hit being having a bit of home made apple pie with your cream!!
There were new boots….
…and highly appropriate socks….
…which one is the chocolate and which the button??
proved ideal for a spot of crochet
which found its way into a new basket!
And all that cutting out I did last week? Well, I didn’t get as much stitched as I’d hoped, but here it is…
A mate to the one already done. That’s two of the planned sixteen made!
Thoroughly enjoyable weekend – should be more of ’em!!
