Crows in the Barn!

What an exceptional day we had yesterday! Thirty odd ladies enjoyed the brilliant talents of Leonie and Deirdre, The Quilted Crow girls, hosted by our Queen of gala events, Linda of Quilts in the Barn fame, and her stalwart helpers.

Thankfully we’ve had a cool change, so much kinder temperatures prevailed. We also had some much appreciated rain, not that that disrupted us, safe and snug as we were in The Barn! It was lovely to see friends from near and far, exclamations and hugs the favourite greeting!

For each of us on our arrival there was a very generous goodie bag….

20130317-151409.jpg…and after some informative instructions from Deirdre and an hilarious account of The Crows’ trip over from Tassie by Leonie, we all set to work, some on the extra gift project from The Crows, some on projects already underway. Linda’s big Barn was filled with excited chatter, lots of laughter, industry and creativity. Of course, The Crows had brought over what must have been most of their store, so shopping became a necessity throughout the day!!…

20130317-152236.jpgThe tables were adorned with native foliage…

20130317-152044.jpg…there were feet shod in cute red shoes

20130317-152146.jpg…Crow quilts were hung around the Barn, providing more eye candy…

20130317-152609.jpg…gorgeous work being done by participants…

20130317-152723.jpg…and, because there were quilters there, cause for serious bag and tin envy!!…

20130317-152845.jpgThere were some other “items” of interest that we spied through The Barn windows, and while they’re not sheep, these are for you Anne and Anna! I did the polite thing and asked if I could take his photo. He very promptly and kindly turned to show his profile!!

20130317-153405.jpg…enquired if that was ok…

20130317-153438.jpg…then (yawn!), it was all too boring!…

20130317-153534.jpgI’ll show you tomorrow what I, and many others, made on the day!

Happy stitching
