A Day at the Beach

Last week B and I enjoyed a delightful day with our friends Glenda and Mr Glenda at the beach where they were holidaying (not that we actually got sand between our toes or seawater on our limbs, but we could smell salty air!).

Not having been down that way in January, I was astonished at the amount of traffic; I really shouldn’t have been as it is Summer and we were heading to the beach! The original plan was to have fish and chips, but apparently the queues are enormous and after such a stressful drive it was so nice to sit outside….

20130122-115124.jpg…and dine on the sumptuous feast Glenda had prepared (and so much healthier too!)…

20130122-115229.jpg…did you notice the serviette? Glenda found them, just for moi!….

Glenda was a busy girl while relaxing (sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it, but you know what I mean!), putting together her “Lila” made in French General – looking fabulous!…

20130122-115556.jpg…and stitching some toiles with spots using the “Kumo” templates – gorgeous!…

Glenda had some great finds too; this 20 cent tins…..

20130122-120226.jpg…alas, the award winning biscuits were long gone….

20130122-120437.jpg…this cutey….

20130122-120620.jpg….has spotty sides!…

20130122-120751.jpg….colourful fat pencils….

20130122-120844.jpg…and fab spools…

After all that show and tell it was time for more nourishment (thank goodness gym started again today!!)…

20130122-121503.jpg..and before we knew it, it was late afternoon and time for us to head home…..feeling so relaxed, full of good food and rewarded with great friendship.

Happy stitching
