New Places, New Faces – part 1

Thanks for the alert re the photos on the last post. All fixed now, if you want to have a look to see what I was rambling on about!

Have you had a lovely weekend? I’ve had a lovely weekend. As the title of this post suggests, I’ve been to new places and met some new people. Glenda and I set out on Friday for the Peninsula where we were meeting with Janine to stay at a place affectionately called The Hamptons. On the way we took a detour, as quilters are prone to do!

We rounded the corner of the road to feast on the above view, and pulled up at this building…

Even though we’d not met them before, Sarah and Emma, the mother and daughter team who run Treehouse Textiles, welcomed us like old friends. All too soon we were sitting at the table with a cuppa having a chat like we’d known each other for ever. THEN we started looking around! There are lovely vignettes everywhere…

I was very taken with a pattern for a tunic dress/top. Glenda already has the pattern, so I bought one too and we both chose fabrics. Glenda’s….

Really getting back into this apparel lark!! I believe Glenda already has hers cut out…..I’m a bit slower…..

A few other bits and pieces caught our eye too. Glenda’s on a yellow and blue bent at the moment….

As we, reluctantly, left Glenda commented that she felt like we were leaving a friend’s home. I heartily agree! Thank you Sarah and Emma for a great visit….we’ll be back!

More on the weekend tomorrow.

Happy stitching

That’s where I went to do my Medallion workshop! Isn’t it the cutest place?! My idea of heaven! I shop for fabric like you…’just because I like it!” I look forward to seeing your tunic made up! I might need that pattern!

What a fabulous shop – I was almost licking the screen, the fabrics are so scrumptious!! Love the tunic pattern – if only I could squeeze a few more hours into each day, so that I would have time to do some dressmaking!!

That shop has “ROAD TRIP” written all over it!!!!!!! Fab fabrics too!

What a divine day I had !! Gorgeous company, gorgeous fabric, ambience and inspiration!
The blue and yellow fabrics are for my Sams quilt, he loved them , especially the bright paisley!! Not bad taste for a 20 year old footballer!! He also asked if i could write his name and made by mum on it!!!! He still has a soft side! isnt that what it’s all about?
Thanks for an amazing day Meredithe xxx

Don’t you love a quilt shop that makes you feel at home? This sounds like a wonderful place to visit — so glad you had a great time!

I wish that shop was in Adelaide 😦
Looking forward to seeing how your tunic turns out, I have been eyeing off that pattern for some time, so it will be nice to hear about the fit and whether it was easy to sew etc.

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
