Class Time – day 2

Everyone was bright and eager to get back into the classroom on Sunday. Oh, and the shop!!!

Cottage Quiltworks, as mentioned yesterday, is a fabulous shop, filled with wonderful fabrics and run by the very friendly and helpful Chris and Jann. I fear we ran them off their feet, but they were still smiling and ever helpful even up to the last minute!

20140330-172540.jpgThey have an eclectic range of fabrics including lots of quirky bolts, just perfect for an MSG quilt! And because we’re quilters, the inevitable happened: one person finds a fabric, brings it back to the classroom, shows it and we all want some!!

20140330-172718.jpgThe classroom was virtually deserted on several occasions and quite a few bolts were run down!

More relaxed today, some of us spent time chatting and taking pics with our blog-buddies, like this set – Judy, yours truly, and Cardygirl

Too soon it was lunch time and Jean dished up a delicious array of salads

We also had a “Bag Swap”, bringing a secretly sewn bag, wrapping it in brown paper, and today taking a number from a box and collecting the correspondingly numbered bag. It was a big success; delighted participants, both givers and receivers!

20140330-173533.jpgSuch a wonderful variety of styles and fabrics!

20140330-173620.jpgAll too soon it was time for one last buzz around the shop (ooh, can’t live without that fabric!), then we packed up (how on earth will this all fit into a suitcase??!!), said our farewells to those not returning to the hotel, and a special thank you to Chris and Jann for their hospitality (and for having such a great store!), then back to the hotel for a hair pulling session of re-packing, a little dinner (can we fit it in?!), a little stitching (very satisfying!) and a good nights sleep!

It’s been fabulous! Thanks to Jean and Lizzie for great organisation, to Margaret for generously sharing her knowledge and skills, and to all who attended, lovely friends, for helping to make it such a great weekend!
