With the alarm set to go off at 4.00am Friday morning, nerves were a-tingle with excitement…….and, Murphy’s Law, I was awake at 1.16 and couldn’t go back to sleep!! Never mind! We, being GJ, Miss C and I, made the plane in plenty of time, landed in a wet Sydney, tumbled into a taxi and arrived at Quiltsmith at 9.25, ready and raring to go!!
Why Sydney, you ask? We’re here for a weekend of fun and stitching, shopping, and class with Margaret Sampson George. A number of women have come up from Melbourne, and we’ve met with several girls from Sydney and surrounds.
Quiltsmith, our meeting place on Friday morning, has an amazing array of fabrics
Then it was onto one of my “must get to” shops….
From the outside…
Heading further north, we stopped for a late lunch/afternoon tea
at Alfresco Emporium. Easter was a strong theme throughout the store
And it was here I met Cardygirl!! And she’s the sweetest, most lovely person. Mr Cardy is here too, and what an obliging man he is, ferrying crazy women around!! It is sooo lovely to meet, in person, blog friends!
Our final destination was our accommodation for the weekend, Checkers Resort
and very comfortable. We dined well at the Terrey Hills Tavern, then three extremely tired budgies went to bed, ready for a BIG Saturday!!
And ooh, what a day we’ve had!! So much to show you from today!! But you’ll have to wait, it’s getting late, and I’m a bit brain depleted!
