In The Garden

Do you know, my whole attitude to Summer has changed since the air conditioner has graced our family room. No longer do I watch the 7 day weather forecast with dread and loathing, just take the daily temperatures in my stride. No longer do I have to carefully plan out the week so I’m not out and about on the hottest day. No longer do I fret and fume over not being able to sew while sitting star-fished on the couch with wet face washers, rotated from the freezer, around my neck in an effort to keep cool. Do I care that it’s going to be 30 degrees plus All This Week?? No indeedy!!

Anyway, enough of that, although the hot weather has meant lots of hand watering, and the plants are just coping. (Pity I can’t get them an air conditioner!)

20130212-145716.jpgOur next door neighbour has sold his house and moved out; when I took his rubbish bins in the other day, I noticed he had some very pretty geraniums. The new neighbours won’t know, so I nicked acquired some cuttings….

20130212-150023.jpghmmm, two out of three might make it!

Forgot to say yesterday, I’ll be spending some extra time at Quilts in the Barn next month ‘cos I’ve booked in to do a class with The Quilted Crow Girls!! How exciting is that?! I believe there are still some places left on each day, so if you’re in Melbourne or can get to Melbourne for 15, 16 or 17 March, click on the link for more details and information and join in the fun. Every person I’ve spoken to who has ventured a class with The Crow Girls has Had A Ball……I can’t wait!! Hope to see you there!

Happy stitching
