Can you believe it’s February already? Everything seems to be back in full swing, doesn’t it? More traffic, seems like everyone is back from Summer holidays, children back at school….. And back in full swing means classes have started again. For me, it was class at Patchwork of Essendon with the wonderful Robyn Falloon, and as it was a “make up” class for me, there were new faces around the table…..well, some I already knew, but you know what I mean.
Would you like to see the show and tell for the day? Barb has finished the centre of her pas de deux….
…aMaZing, huh?! This is one quilt I’m very happy to admire, but have no desire to make! Kerry is well on the way with hers too…
…Kerry was working on hers in class…
…Barb was having fun with her peacocks…
…and she had another peacock embroidered by the end of class (don’t you love that the colour name of the embroidery thread is “peacock”??!)…
…which will shortly join the others sitting on the fence…
…Sarah was having her first play with hexagons…
…and she indulged in a spot of retail therapy as well, getting ready for Griswold…..or maybe Peacocks….?? (Yes! they are Sarah’s and No! I didn’t! – tempting though they were!)…
…this spot of shopping, and Sarah’s work, all travelled to and fro in this gorgeous basket and tin!!…
….Julie has not long started Miss Marple which is looking lovely…
….Helen joined class for the first time, hoping to regain her appliqué skills – which under Robyn’s tuition is a certainty – and is starting a little something for a special little girl…
….a recent sewing machine purchase necessitated some practice for Helen, and she produced these extremely cute bags (more bag envy!)…
….et moi?? I had an extremely productive day! All templates for Peacocks are cut out, the background for one of the centre blocks is cut, and I’ve started cutting and laying out for this block…

Stuck in hideous traffic on the way home, the journey was brightened by thinking about such a lovely day, great company, all the gorgeous work in progress, and then spying this….
Have a lovely weekend…..I’m off for more sewing!
Happy stitching

That looks like SO MUCH FUN! To have a group to join like that and be able to see all those great works of art being made right in front of you, yourself included! I love, love, love the retail therapy stack. Wish it were mine!
Such fun to see show and tell from another class! Drool, drool, drool. Those peacocks are looking proud and magnificent. Reminds me to get a move on with my homework for our next class with Robyn or I will have nothing to show!
Looks like it was a very inspiring day. So much delicious appliqué. Good positive thoughts will always trump traffic.
I bet being stuck in the traffic wasn’t nearly as bad as if you hadn’t had so much colour and beauty in your day. What an amazing bunch of fabulousnesses!
I love when you do a show and tell! The peacocks are lovely, but I have a longstanding superstition about peacocks (inherited from my Mum) and won’t have anyhting peacock related in the house!!
We have had blue sky and sunshine today – but more snow is forecast ……
