Still excited by our stop over at Treehouse Textiles, Glenda and I made our way to our rendezvous with Janine and were delighted to find Cathy would be joining us for lunch!
Janine had cooked a delicious lasagne…
…which we ate under the covered verandah. Looking west the clouds were rolling in….
…and looking east, there was hardly a cloud in the sky! Such a strange Spring day.
The outlook from the verandah to the garden was just delightful.
Quite taken with this chairs!
Then we had some show and tell; Glenda with her Circle Game blocks which she is doing through Amitie Textiles
and Kim McLean’s Flower Garden applique she is doing through Material Obsession Glenda has 11 blocks completed, here are just a few….
Janine brought out her Periwinkle Star (the first template set I did for Victorian Textiles!)
and this gorgeous quilt….
which has a stunning backing.
Janine’s Mum and sister made this quilt for Janine, which she is now hand quilting.
Love the fussy cutting!
Glenda has just finished her Museum Medallion (again through Amitie)
and Cathy had her nearly done one for show and tell too!
…along with her circle blocks ready for the next border.
We had treats, and books to browse…
fabulous food….
…..a birthday bottle to share
…..walks with sea views
a visit to a fantastic retro cafe….
with stunning views…..(can you see the yacht?)
and scrumptious morning teas…..
…as well as the best hot chocolate…..
….a challenge of merging two applique donuts….
….into grouped colours
….beautiful applique
….an impromptu hand quilting lesson
and even patchwork shoes!
A truly fun weekend!!
Happy stitching

So much prettiness to look at! Janine’s quilt has a real vintage feel to it! ( It looks to be right near where my sister lives! Wish I’d been there!)
The more I read your blog and see what you and your friends are making with “brighter” fabrics than I normally use, the more I am beginning to think maybe I should make a quilt using these fabrics. Love the shoes. Any idea what shop they came from ? And the retro cafe looks really nice. What is it called and where is it ? hugs, Fiona
Meredithe, I just love your blog and the fabrics that you and your friends use. Where on the Morington Peninsula was the retro cafe? Ann.
I am definitely saving up my pennies to come back ….. I want to see and do everything in your post! Instead we have another wet and windy (though very mild) day. I love the shoes, but alas they are too flat for me to wear – I need a small heel or I get sore arches!!
Gorgeous show and tell!!!! don’t know whether I like you going off having a good time without us! – I bet Mrs Mac will agree!!! How about converting Fiona to brights – thats exciting!!!! haven’t seen her for ages
Such a wonderful day, I was so thrilled to be a part of it! Absolutely fantastic pics Meredithe, great for the memories! Looks like you had an awesome weekend. I’ve not been to that new cafe yet, must remedy that soon!! xo
