I picked up an antique quilt for a friend, which she’d purchased from Mary and Joe Koval at the Quilts in the Barn red and white exhibition the other week. Very kindly – I thought – I offered to look after it for a couple of decades, oops, surely I meant days, but surprisingly, my friend wants it sooner than that!!
She did say I could photograph it for the blog, so here are a few pics::

The notes on it read, 1890 red and white touching stars, Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Check out this beautiful hand quilting, it’s so small and even.

Cute little 9-patches and sashing

It shall be delivered today. At least I can say I had an antique quilt in my home……for a little while!
Happy stitching

Thanks my dear. Glad you could have it for a little while. My bed will be lovely tonight. No cuddles in bed for Poppy and Rosy tonight. x
I know just how you feel – I once had a friend’s multi-award winning quilt in the house for a few days, and didn’t want to give it back …… even though it was an art quilt, and really not my style at all!! It is raining, grey and miserable here, a shock after all the bright cold days we have had!
the quilt is amazing I love the hand quilting , wow. lucky you having it for a few days to study and admire….
